PHAROS POCKET GPS NAVIGATOR AVAILABLE FOR IN-CAR INSTALLATION AT MAGNOLIA HI-FI

Pharos Science & Applications Inc., a leading provider of portable navigation and location-based services, today announced that its Pocket GPS Navigator is being sold and installed as an in-car navigation solution at six Magnolia Hi-Fi retail stores in Washington.

The complete Pharos Pocket GPS Navigator package, it is a powerful and affordable in-car navigation solution that gives users enhanced convenience and mobility. Magnolia Hi-Fi offers custom installation for the Pharos Pocket GPS Navigator. The Pocket GPS Navigator is loaded onto a Windows Powered Pocket PC and located on a car's dashboard via a vent mount or custom mount. The Pocket PC can be removed from the dashboard for use at home or at work, and can be transferred between cars.

The Pocket GPS Navigator is the perfect solution for users who want the power of a GPS navigation system in their car, but don't want to pay for an expensive in-car solution that lacks mobility, said David Brandos, president of Pharos. If you are a business traveler who uses a variety of cars, from rentals to company cars to your own private transportation, the Pocket GPS Navigator gives you the functionality you need as an affordable and convenient solution.

Pharos is a charter member of Microsoft's Mobility Partner Advisory Council, which was formed to serve as a focused feedback mechanism for Microsoft mobility platform development and to provide new technical, marketing and business development support to companies making significant investments and inroads in the mobility space. Microsoft was instrumental in developing the relationship between Pharos and Magnolia Hi-Fi to sell an in-car GPS navigation installation.

We're excited to see MPAC member companies like Pharos achieve such success with their Pocket PC products, said Mary Rose Becker, group marketing manager for the Mobile Devices Division at Microsoft Corp. Taking advantage of Microsoft Windows for Pocket PC as in-car GPS navigation is yet another example of how our industry partners are expanding the functionality of the devices, offering customers unique value specific to their individual needs.
