NEW WIRELESS SYSTEM PREVENTS ACCIDENTAL BOAT SINKING
In a recent study by a well-known insurance company of 150 sinking claims the most interesting conclusion was that for every boat that sinks while underway, four boats sink at the dock in their slips. Most recreational boats spend considerably more time at the dock unattended then they do underway. Silly problems like a bad bilge pump, or loss of shore power or a weak battery are sufficient to make a boat sink, even in waters that are only 6 feet deep.
The Wireless Watchman is a new system that monitors key devices like frequently cycling bilge pump, the battery voltage, Hi-Water switch, shore power status and inform the owner, or his representative, if anything is wrong. The system includes a GPS so the owner can track location and a special Safe Zone feature makes it so if the boat leaves this Safe Zone it will automatically generate a theft alarm and send the location, speed and heading so the law enforcement authorities can recover the boat.
The Wireless Watchman also can detect for Intrusion, Fire, Smoke and engine runtime, which in-turn can provide accurate data on the preventive maintenance milestone that the owner should follow. A daily status report on all boat parameters is sent by email to the owner. In addition, the owner has a personalized website where he can check the status of his boat at any time and from any location
