Baron Services Announces FutureScan - - Capable of Projecting Precipitation Paths into the Future

Baron Services announces FutureScan a radar projection and display product designed to project Doppler radar data into the future. FutureScan is the result of a joint agreement with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology which licenses Baron Services to utilize MIT patented capabilities. Exhibited at RTNDA, in Charlotte, NC FutureScan is the first commercially available product to utilize this MIT technology.

Continuing the expansion of Doppler radar display

FutureScan, using scientific algorithms, takes the raw and derived Doppler radar data in real-time and produces a visual display of the data projecting it forward into the coming hour and possibly as far out as three hours into the future. Predicted weather is displayed in motion, as it will be moving across a specific area in detail continuously. Combined with the meteorological relevant information available with Doppler radar and Baron Services' analysis products the capability to foresee where approaching severe weather and precipitation bands will be located. This could provide lifesaving information for severe weather and flood evacuation planning or in just providing daily weather information for the public

Geographically accurate maps make projected data relevant

FutureScan is combined with three of Baron Services' patented storm tracking products that include geographically accurate maps and display Doppler data. This combination puts FutureScan's projected radar data into perspective with landmarks such as communities, roads, and rivers. Meteorologists will find this an excellent tool in severe weather as well as daily forecasts. Designed for broadcasters, government entities, utilities and other weather sensitive industries, FutureScan provides a new look at approaching weather patterns. Used on a real-time basis, broadcast meteorologists will be able to show viewers the projected path of a pop-up rain shower or the possible path of potentially severe weather. Available for display in the Baron VIPIR, FutureScan also will be displayed in a three-dimensional manner. For more information, on the latest GPS News see hand held gps.
