PARADIGM’S DESTINATOR PERSONAL NAVIGATION SYSTEM

PowerLOC Technologies Inc., a subsidiary of Paradigm Advanced Technologies, Inc., announced yesterday that it received Pocket PC Magazine’s prestigious People’s Choice Award. Only three months after its introduction, Destinator was voted best of its kind product in the GPS category by outperforming seven other more established competitors

The Award was given to PowerLOC at the Pocket PC Summit currently being held in Santa Monica, CA. The PocketPC Summit is the first trade show and conference dedicated exclusively to the PocketPC. The People’s Choice Award was co-sponsored by Pocket PC Summit and Pocket PC Magazine. The Summit is targeted at business executives, enterprise-level developers, and IT professionals who are establishing mobile/wireless data and infrastructure strategies for their organizations, as well as looking to enhance corporate productivity and profitability. PocketPC Magazine is considered the leading industry publication devoted to handheld devices and related products.

During the Summit, PowerLOC demonstrated its ‘pre-release’ version of the newest Destinator 1.5 software that significantly improves the superior features of the Destinator 1.1 product. Destinator 1.5 contains a comprehensive Points of Interest database, European maps, coast-to-coast continental routing maps for the U.S. and Europe and is also available in Italian and German. This new version also offers better graphics quality, faster route calculation and recalculation, a new search algorithm for address query and improved memory consumption characteristics. PowerLOC plans to release the new Destinator 1.5 version by early November once final testing has been completed. The new version will be offered as an upgrade to all registered users of the Destinator navigation system free of charge. The European maps will be available for purchase from the Destinator’s Web site.

Destinator is the only portable navigation system designed for smart handheld devices and PCs that utilizes premium NAVTECH map data. Use of NAVTECH map data positions Destinator as a strong competitor in the portable navigation sector and will contribute to the success of the Destinator product. This award, as voted on by the users of GPS-based navigation systems and readers of Pocket PC Magazine, further emphasizes our belief that we have created and are producing a ‘best of breed’ product, said Eduardo Guendelman, President and CEO of PowerLOC.
