Avineon offers Environmental Mapping Services
Avineon, Inc., the leading provider of GIS services, today announces the
expansion of its photointerpretation and environmental mapping services. Using photogrammetric technology,
various imagery sources including digital orthophotography, and field data collection, Avineon now offers an
extensive array of services to clients interested in the acquisition of aerial imagery and environmental GIS data.
Avineon’s biologists, geographers, and other natural scientists perform wetland mapping, benthic habitat
mapping, species level vegetation mapping (aquatic and forestry), soil mapping, field reconnaissance, GPS data
collection, environmental resource inventories, and trend analysis. They are also highly experienced in
combining multiple techniques to develop comprehensive land use/land cover maps that facilitate environmental
resource management on a regional scale. Avineon adapts a variety of mapping techniques and products to the
specific needs of individual clients, bringing the best combination of photogrammetric and image processing
tools to each environmental mapping project.
Environmental services complement Avineon’s full suite of geospatial services, which also include data
conversion, data migration, photogrammetry, application development, and GIS consulting. These services
reflect the core competencies of Avineon’s Baymont Division, which was formed following Avineon’s 2002
acquisition of AGRA Baymont, Inc. The Baymont Division brings over twenty-seven years of experience in
environmental mapping services to Avineon.
Keith Patterson, Avineon’s Director of Photogrammetry, Mapping and GIS, said, Our photointerpretation and
GIS staff are very experienced. Many of them participated in the National Wetlands Inventory program and all
are skilled in producing the highly detailed environmental map data necessary to effectively manage and
monitor natural resources.
Gary Wilkison, Avineon’s Vice President for Business Development, added, With our new suite of services,
Avineon now offers the full range of expertise necessary for successful GIS implementation to our clients, in
essence, creating a one-stop shop for all of their geospatial needs.
