New Fiber Outside Plant Mapping Software Puts Information in Everyone’s Hands
Communication Networks Infrastructure Management System for
Fiber Outside Plant software by Kanotech is the second application in a suite of

plant assets, such as sheaths, fibers, headends,
nodes, and splice cases, and how they take
signals to and from clients.
Thus, CommNets
IMS+Fiber is capable of performing complex
traces such as going from customer point of
service to the headend that the signal originated
at—with end-to-end connectivity between the RF
outside plant and the fiber outside plant that
services the customer for both the forward path
and the return path. Another example of
CommNets IMS+Fiber functionality is the ability
for anyone to simulate an OTDR Shoot and
pinpoint where the signal terminated along a
given light path.
